Liquor, furniture worth about Rs. 50 lakh destroyed

Mysuru: Fire due to suspected electrical short circuit gutted a wine store on D. Devaraj Urs Road destroying liquor and furniture worth about Rs. 50 lakh  on Saturday night.The fire mishap took place at True Spirits at about 2 am on Sunday.

A person, who saw thick smoke emanating from the liquor store, informed the staff, who in turn informed the store owner and also the fire station.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who reached the spot along with the fire extinguishing vehicle, managed to douse the fire and prevented it from spreading further.

Excise Department sleuths visited the spot and inspected the premises.
