Services to be hit due to 4-day streak of holidays
Mysuru: With bank employees calling for a Nationwide strike tomorrow (Sept.11) seeking fulfilment of their demands, banks across the State will have a 4-day holiday streak from tomorrow (Sept.11 to 14). While banks will be shut tomorrow on account of the strike, Sept.12 is second Saturday, 13th is Sunday, a general holiday and 14th is holiday for Ganesha Chaturthi festival.
Tomorrow’s All India strike is called by United Forum of Bank Unions (AIBEA-AIBOC-NCBE-AIBOA-BEFI-INBEF-INBOC Unions) seeking fulfilment of their various demands which chiefly include: Implementation of 5-day Banking; Withdrawal of unilateral and discriminatory PLI (Performance Linked Incentive) scheme; Holding of bilateral discussion with Bank Unions and Settlement of residual issues, among others.
Tomorrow’s strike is expected to severely hit banking transactions across the State.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that bank employees after staging a demonstration, will take out a march from the SBI Administrative Office in T.K. Layout and pass through Maruthi temple junction, Kamakshi Hospital, Bake Point Circle and Saraswathipuram Police Station before culminating at the starting point.
