National Forest Martyrs’ Day in city

National Forest Martyrs’ Day was observed at the Aranya Bhavan in Ashokapuram, Mysuru, yesterday. Sixth Additional District and Sessions Court Judge Roopa offered floral tributes at the Martyrs’ Memorial, praying for peace to the departed souls. National Forest Martyrs’ Day is observed on Sept. 11 each year to honour forest personnel and community defenders who gave their lives protecting wildlife, trees and natural resources. On this occasion, Conservator of Forests S. Prabhakaran, Deputy Conservators of Forests (DCFs) K. Paramesh and Dr. I.B. Prabhugowda, Zoo Executive Director P. Anusha and several other officials were present.
