Mysuru: Stating that a healthy younger generation will make India a robust country, former CFTRI Director Dr. V. Prakash said that practising yoga is helpful in relieving mental stress.
He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Yoga, Ayurveda, Food Nutrition – Triotsava’ programme organised jointly by the city’s Government Ayurveda Research Centre, Food Science and Nutrition Department of Yuvaraja’s College and Nutrition Society of India, Mysuru Chapter, at Yuvaraja’s College here recently.
“Following an integrated combination of Yoga, Ayurveda and Nutrition lays a strong foundation for maintaining good health and physical fitness. A good digestive process would enhance mental sturdiness and immunity,” Dr. Prakash said and called upon the youths to practise yoga daily for maintaining good physical and mental health.
Yuvaraja’s College Principal Dr. K. Ajaykumar, Administrative Officer K.B. Umesh, Retired Professor of Food Science and Nutrition, UoM, Dr. Jamuna Prakash, Food Science HoD Prof. R. Shekar Nayaka, Nutrition Society of India Co-ordinator C. Anitha, Secretary Mahesh, Nataraja Nursing College Principal Rajesh, Dr. A.S. Chandrashekar and others were present.
Government Ayurveda Research Centre Assistant Director Dr. B. Lakshminarayan Shenoy welcomed. Chayadevi B.Ed College Principal Anthony Paulraj compered.
