Mysuru: Sadvidya Educational Institutions, Mysuru, organised Teachers’ Day celebration and ‘Guruvandana’ at its T. P. Kailasam Rangamantapa on Sept. 25 to honour the selfless service and invaluable contribution of teachers in shaping the lives of students and society.

Pannaga and M. Sindhusri rendered the prayer “Bhaja Govindam,” setting a devotional and auspicious tone for the celebration, which was inaugurated by President of the Institutions Prof. M.S.K. Narahari Babu. Secretary M.D. Gopinath was the chief guest. Vice-President S. Balaji, Joint Secretary K.N. Phaneesh, Raghuram Vajpayee, R.S. Prasanna, Dr. Vasuki and Heads of the Institutions were present.

Teachers, Lecturers feted

This was followed by a series of events and felicitation. Prof. Narahari Babu was felicitated for his five-plus decades of contribution in the field of teaching (Chemistry).

The management also felicitated fourteen II PU toppers as “Sadvidya Rathna” with a cash prize of rupees ten thousand.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Narahari Babu said he was overwhelmed witnessing the success of the students and filled with gratitude for honouring him.

Recalling his 25 years of journey in Sadvidya as a Principal, Management Member, Secretary and as President now, he expressed his great regards for Prof. Arakanth, one of the success pillars of Sadvidya Institution and a few more eminent members of management.  

 He concluded by saying that teachers have great responsibility on their shoulders during this rapidly changing world  and congratulated the rank holders.

Two books were given to all the teaching staff of Sadvidya Family — “Vidyabhyasa” and “Shikshakarigaagi” — by Nithyasthaanandaji of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram.

Cultural events like group songs and dance drama were performed by students and staff.
