Nanjangud: A youth was killed on the spot when a tipper rammed into the car he was driving in front of Taluk Panchayat Office in the town on Sunday midnight.

The deceased is Ganesh (26), son of Tagadur village APMC former Vice-President R. Mahadevu.

On Sunday at about 11.30 pm, Ganesh, who was proceeding towards Hejjige village in his car, took a right turn at Apollo Circle and was proceeding in front of Taluk Panchayat Office when the tipper, which came from Mysuru side, rammed into the car killing Ganesh on the spot. Ganesh was set to marry next month.

Nanjangud Traffic Police, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar, seized the tipper and shifted the body to the Government Hospital where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.

Nanjangud Traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
