Mysuru: On account of Wildlife Week celebrations from Oct.1 to 7, Mysore Zoo has organised a Wildlife Photography Exhibition from today at the Zoo Library Hall.
There was a good response for the photography competition conducted during the month of September. Altogether 60 photographers participated in the competition with a total of 153 photographs for both Zoo (66) and Wildlife (87) categories. The award-winning and selected photos are displayed in the exhibition which will be open for visitors between 9.30 am and 5 pm.
These images were selected by a three-member expert panel comprising M.N. Jayakumar, IFS, Retd. Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Dinesh Kumble and R.G. Srikanth, Wildlife Photographers. Following are the winners in Wildlife Category: Vikas Rumale (I prize), V. Sheshadri (II), Navin Raj (III), V. Sheshadri, K.A. Machaia, G.S. Ravishankar, Chandra Mohan (all Certificates of Merit).
Zoo Category: Naveen Kumar (I) G.S.Ravishankar (II), S. Jnanachandra (III), G.S.Ravishankar, M.Prabhu Prasad, Sandeep Thimmaiah, Naveen Kumar (all Certificates of Merit).
Cash prizes will be given to the award winners in the photography competition during the valedictory function of Youth Club of Mysore Zoo in December 2017.
