Roads behind Lansdowne Building cleaned, beautified

October 2, 2026

But nuisance of open urination continues…

Mysuru: The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has taken up the cleaning and beautification of areas behind the dilapidated Lansdowne Building, which had long been used as an open urination spot.

Located in the heart of the city, the building is neglected, and the surrounding stretch has become a source of foul smell, forcing pedestrians to cover their noses as they pass through the area.

Ahead of Dasara, the MCC workers cleaned the stretch over the past two days and have begun painting decorative murals on the walls. The murals also carry awareness messages against smoking and drinking.

However, despite the clean-up and beautification efforts, some people continue to use the spot for open urination, defeating the very purpose of the civic initiative and causing embarrassment to the authorities.
