Mysuru: H.S. Arun Kumar was re-elected as the President of Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC) for the year 2026-27 in the elections held at the Golf Club House in city yesterday.

Out of the total 1,157 valid ballots, Arun Kumar secured 690 votes defeating his competitor Dr. Venkatesh Joshi, who polled in 467 votes.

Meanwhile, K.A. Anil Kumar with 612 votes was elected as the Captain of the Club defeating B.S. Krishna, who secured 545 votes.

K.S. Sudheer Bhat and D.V. Sridhar were elected as Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer respectively of the Club. While Sudheer Bhat secured 687 votes against Raghuveer Ponnuswamy (470 votes), Sridhar polled in a total of 791 votes against Dr. Anil Thomas Maret, who secured 366 votes.

For the elections held to the Committee Members, M.S. Dinesh Kumar (879 votes), Phalguna V. Urs (802 votes) and Sonam Chugh (673 votes) were elected from the playing category while Dr. Soniya Thimmaiah (842 votes), K.N. Mahadevaswamy (649 votes) and Jacob Thomas Paul (607 votes) were elected from Open Category.

Suresh Balram (619 votes), S. Lokesh (498 votes), M.A. Manjunath (555 votes), K.S. Anil (455 votes) and Dr. N.  Chandrabhan Singh (363 votes) could not make it to the Committee, according to a press release.
