To be held now from Oct. 18 to 23
Mandya: The Cauvery Aarti at KRS reservoir in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district, that was earlier scheduled to be held from Oct. 11, has been postponed by a week.
Cauvery Aarti, that is conducted on the lines of Ganga Aarti at Varanasi, was originally scheduled to take place at KRS Dam on Dasara inaugural day (Oct. 11) and was to be inaugurated by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
But now the ritual has been rescheduled by the Government due to the Chief Minister’s prior engagements during the day.
As per the revised schedule, the Cauvery Aarti will now be held from Oct. 18 to 23.
