Mysuru: The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), along with other Urban Local Bodies of the city (Hootagalli City Municipal Council and Srirampura, Bogadi, Rammanahalli and Kadakola Town Panchayats) carried out the second round of mass cleanliness and waste clearance drive along the entire stretch Outer Ring Road today.
The MCC had undertaken the drive under the Central Government’s ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, covering the total Ring Road length of 43 kms, ahead of the grand 11-day Dasara celebrations starting tomorrow (Oct. 11).
The first round of the drive was held on Oct. 1, during which nearly 60 percent of all types of wastes and debris along the Outer Ring Road were cleared, while the remaining 40 percent of wastes and construction debris were cleared in the second round of the drive today, thus making the Ring Road free of wastes.

The MCC and other Urban Local Bodies deployed the necessary staff and workers, machinery and other equipment in their respective jurisdiction of the Outer Ring Road.
Today, the drive which began from Hinkal Ring Road junction on Hunsur Road, subsequently covered the entire 43-km length of the Ring Road.
MCC Commissioner M.K. Savitha and other officials of the MCC and other Urban Local Bodies supervised the massive cleaning drive.
