Artistes forced to perform for empty chairs…

October 14, 2026

Come Dasara, the Cultural Capital Mysuru buzzes with many activities and cultural programmes that attract locals and tourists from across the globe to witness the grandeur of Dasara festivities that goes on for over a week. However, with too many events scrambled across the city, people hardly get time to make it to all the venues. This was evident yesterday at Jaganmohan Palace auditorium where M. Mahadeva and troupe of Sri Male Mahadeshwara Kamsale Janapada Kala Sangha, Mysuru, performed ‘Bisu Kamsale’ to empty chairs. One or two persons, who attended the event, were heard saying, why don’t the Government, that focuses on inviting art troupes, also makes sure that there are enough number of audience or reduce the number of event venues.
