Mobile phone thieves arrested

Mysuru: Devaraja Police on Oct. 1 took into custody two persons who were trying to sell mobile phones at very less prices at City Bus Stand here.

During interrogation, the arrested are said to have confessed of stealing mobile phones from the public during Vijayadashami near Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the North Gate of the Palace, following which the Cops arrested them and recovered seven mobile phones worth about Rs. 74,000 which was with them.

The arrested have been identified as Manju Usnappa Yarakal of Hubballi and Imran Khan of Bengaluru.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and Devaraja ACP B.S. Rajashekar supervised Devaraja Inspector Thimmaraju, Sub-Inspector K. Mahadevanayaka and staff Manjunath, Umesh and Nandeesh in the nabbing and recovery operation.
