Mysuru: Strongly condemning the Congress Party’s false narrative targeting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls and its demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), as part of its Statewide campaign, held a massive ‘Save Democracy, End Anarchy’ (Prajaprabhutva Ulisi, Arajakate Alisi) rally in city this morning.
Hundreds of BJP workers, led by State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra, who gathered in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple, marched in a procession holding placards that carried messages against the Congress and its efforts to undermine democratic Institutions, to nearby Town Hall where the rally was held.
Addressing the BJP workers, former Assembly Speaker K.G. Bopaiah maintained that the SIR is very much part of the periodic revision of electoral rolls.

“The Congress is raising unnecessary hue and cry over SIR and targeting CEC Gyanesh Kumar, Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, which is highly deplorable. The entire world has been praising Modi for his work but the Congress is trying to create anarchy in the country out of fear of losing elections,” Bopaiah said adding that the people will teach a befitting lesson to the Congress for spreading lies.
BJP State Vice-President and former Minister N. Mahesh jabbed the Congress for trying to present a memorandum to the Chief Justice of India. Terming the Congress action as mischief, he asserted that the SIR is aimed at creating a clean electoral rolls, by deleting names of the dead and those who have shifted.

MLC Raghu R. Kautilya said that the Congress, which has lost the confidence of the people, is now trying to create anarchy out of frustration of losing polls. Contending that the Congress, which has realised that it cannot defeat PM Modi in the elections, is now making behind the scenes attempts to oust Modi, who is strongly rooted in the minds of the people through his work for the welfare and prosperity of the country.
Hitting out at Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which launched a campaign against SIR and CEC, Raghu alleged that the Congress, out of frustration is now trying to ride on CJP’s campaign, at a time when people have decided to free the country of ‘cockroaches.’
Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Wadiyar said that this rally was aimed at erasing the false narrative of the Congress and to uphold democracy in its true spirit.
Charging the Congress of trying to subvert the Constitution, he said that the Congress is trying to create anarchy in the country through utterly false narratives. Defending the SIR, the MP bemoaned that the Congress had turned the Parliament into a street fight, which is against democratic principles.
He also highlighted the scams under the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre.
Former MP Prathap Simha said that the Congress has hatched an organised plot for creating anarchy in the country, at a time when India is progressing fast under various fronts under Modi. Stating that the Congress has been losing one election after the other, he alleged that the grand old party was engaged in false narratives. But the people are very much aware of the Congress designs, he maintained.
MLCs C.T. Ravi, N. Ravikumar and several other BJP leaders too addressed the gathering.
MLA T.S. Srivatsa, City BJP President L. Nagendra, former MLC Thontadarya, former Mayor Sandesh Swamy, party leaders E.C. Ningaraj Gowda, Mallkarjunappa, Dr. Anil Thomas and others were present.
