Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha of C.J. Minchu tomorrow

Mysuru: Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha of C.J. Minchu, disciple of Vidu. M. Pankaja Ramakrishnaiah, has been organised at Jaganmohan Palace tomorrow (Oct.29) at 5.30 pm under the aegis of Sri Sarveshwara Nruthyakala Mandira, Pankaja Performing Art Centre, Mysuru.

She will be accompanied by Guru Vidu. M. Pankaja Ramakrishnaiah on natuvanga, Vid. Ramesh Chadaga on vocal, Vid. Dasappa on mridanga, Vid. Thandavamurthy on violin, Vid. C.R. Ragavendra Prasad on rhythm pad and Vid. Rajesh on flute.

Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji of Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Mutt, Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt, Sri Sidharameshwara Swamiji of Naganuru Rudrakshi Mahasamsthana Mutt-Belagavi will grace the occasion.

Mayor M.J. Ravikumar will inaugurate. MLAs Vasu and G.T. Devegowda, MP C.S. Puttaraju, retd. Principal of St. Philomena’s College Prof. M. Krishnegowda, Kannada & Culture Assistant Director H. Chennappa will be the chief guests.

Mridanga Vidwan H.L. Shivashankaraswamy of Layavidya Prathistan-Mysuru and Vidu. K. Jyothi Prakash of Noopura Nruthya Academy- Chikmagalur will be felicitated on the occasion.

Profile: Daughter of J.R. Manjula and Dr. C.K. Jagadeesh Kumar, Minchu is a promising artiste hailing from Mysuru.

She started her dance schooling at Chikkamagaluru, at the age of five, under the guidance of Vidu. K. Jyothi Prakash. Presently, she is the disciple of Vidu. Pankaja Ramakrishnaiah of Sri Sarveshwara Nruthyakala Mandira, Mysuru.

A seventh grade student of St. Joseph’s Central School, Vijayanagar, Mysuru, Minchu has turned out to be a multi-faceted talent. She has completed her Junior Grade of Bharatanatyam and is being trained in Senior Grade.

Minchu has actively participated in many programmes and given presentations. Apart from Classical dance, she is well-versed in folk art forms and drawings.
