Mysuru: The delay in appointment of a full-time Vice-Chancellor (VC), the 25th one to the University of Mysore (UoM), is causing lot of problems, especially at a time when it has applied for Institute of Eminence status.
However, according to sources, the University will get a full-time VC soon.
It is learnt that the Governor-Chancellor at last has accepted the recommendation of the State Government to appoint Prof. C. P. Siddhashrama, a retired professor in Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies, as the VC of UoM. As Chief Minister Siddharamaiah was keen on his name, it had been forwarded to the Governor’s office in July this year. But, the Governor, not happy with the list suggested by the Search Committee, had sent it back.
