Vijaya Vittala PU College bags first prize in Swachh Quiz

Mysuru: Vijaya Vittala PU College bagged the first prize at the District-level Swachh Bharat Mission ‘Swachh Quiz’ competition organised by the District Administration, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) and District Urban Development Cell (DUDC) at Senate Bhavan in Manasagangothri yesterday.

Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, speaking after distributing the prizes to the winners, said that in the light of the Swachh Survekshan-2018, it was laudable that such a quiz competition involving school and college students had been organised. Creating awareness about the Swachh Mission through students is going to have a good impact, he added.

A private firm from Bengaluru was in charge of the quiz and Raghavendra was the Quiz Master. Students from Mysuru city, T. Narasipur, Nanjangud, H.D. Kote, Hunsur, Periyapatna and K.R. Nagar taluks participated in the quiz.

In the first round, all the students participated. Six teams, which scored the highest marks, entered the final round. Vijaya Vittala PU College’s T.N. Srinidhi and Shankar N. Athreya won the first place, Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala’s N. Gautam and K.C. Kiran Nachaiah came second and Sadvidya High School’s C.V. Apramaiah and Jayanth Iyengar were placed third.

The winners were distributed a cash prize of Rs.10,000, Rs.6,000 and Rs. 4,000 respectively along with mementoes and certificates.
