Mysuru:  Strongly condemning the Police assault on BJP leader and advocate Gokul Govardhan at Nazarbad Police Station on Sunday, State BJP President and former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa has demanded immediate suspension of all Police personnel involved in the incident.

Addressing a press meet at a private hotel here this morning, Yeddyurappa alleged that there was a total breakdown of law and order in the State and even the High Court has rapped the State Government on many issues.

Referring to the party’s State-wide Parivartana rally, BSY said that the rally had entered the 84th day today and Mysuru was the 29th district he was visiting as part of the rally.

MYSURU RALLY

Today (Jan. 23), the rally will take place at Varuna, K.R. Nagar, Hunsur and Periyapatna segments and tomorrow (Jan. 24), the rally will cover Kodagu district. The mega rally at Mysuru, covering all city Assembly Constituencies, will take place at 3 pm at Maharaja College Grounds, which will be attended by BJP National President Amit Shah.

Stating that the party’s State-wide yatra had covered most of the Assembly segments, reaching out to more than two crore people, he maintained that the rally was largely helping in gathering people’s opinion on declaring the party candidates for the forthcoming Assembly polls.

IRRIGATION PRIORITY

Listing the priorities, if the BJP government was elected to power, Yeddyurappa said irrigation will top the list as also generation of jobs, improving healthcare infrastructure, road development etc. Taking a dig at the CM and PWD Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, the State BJP Chief said that the two were looking at other constituencies to contest the forthcoming Assembly polls and this clearly shows that they were scared to contest from their traditional constituencies.

CORRUPTION GALORE

Accusing Siddharamaiah of rampant corruption and dictatorial attitude, BSY said that a chargesheet explaining the corruption and corrupt practices of Congress leaders will be prepared in a fortnight and distributed among households in every village, town and city of the State.

State bankrupt

Reiterating that Siddharamaiah was the most arrogant CM the State had seen, he alleged that the Congress government was pledging the State’s assets at will to procure loans and this goes to show that the State’s treasury had become bankrupt under Congress rule.

Accusing CM Siddharamaiah and the Congress government being behind the State Bandh called on Jan. 25 and Bengaluru Bandh on Feb. 4 over the Mahadayi row, Yeddyurappa claimed that the CM was hand-in-glove with the organisations.

Referring to recent opinion polls, he said that the BJP would win at least 125 Constituencies if the elections were held today.Asserting that youths and women were largely favouring the BJP, he reminded CM Siddharmaiah that his (CM) leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were on advance bail.

Replying to a question on Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde’s remark on Constitution that has triggered a row, Yeddyurappa merely said that the BJP top brass had advised the Minister to be cautious in his speeches.
