Mysuru: The important development works taken up under the Chief Minister’s Special Grant of Rs.50 crore to the city, is going on at a brisk pace.
The work on interlocking of tiles and kerb stones for footpaths, cycle tracks and drainage are going on and nearly 85 percent of the work has been completed.
Since, the asphalting of road is in progress, the work on the development of KRS Road is going to be completed within a week, said Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner G. Jagadeesha.
He visited the place recently and checked the quality of work and the thickness of the tar, according to tender conditions.
The 2,250 metre (2.25 km) stretch development work from Dasappa Circle to Vontikoppal Temple on KRS Road worth Rs.4 crore undertaken by the MCC is almost complete.
The shoulder drains on both sides of the road, cement concrete drains, footpaths, bicycle track, development of Akashvani Circle and KRS Road asphalting is in progress and 65 per cent of the work is complete.
The rest of the works will also be completed in a week and opened to traffic.
Similarly other works taken up under the CM’s Special Grant is also going on in other major roads in city, said Jagadeesha.
Contractors N.Siddu, Krishnaraju and Suresh have taken up the development works since the last four months and the works are being supervised by MCC 6th Zone Assistant Engineer M.A. Manjunath and Development Officer Jagadish.
