MDFA ‘A’ Division Football League in city from Mar. 23

Mysore District Football Association (MDFA) will be conducting the ‘A’ Division Football Tournament 2016-17 for the ‘Achutharao Memorial Trophy’ from Mar. 23 at the University Football Grounds.

A total of 12 teams will be taking part in the ‘A’ Division which are  divided into two groups of six teams each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals and will play for the championship title. The two lowest point teams from each group will play for the relegation to the ‘B’ Division. The matches will be played on a league-cum-super-league basis.

The teams in Group ‘A’ are: Rovers FC, Gandhinagar FC, Royal FC, Jolly XI FC, South Western Railway (S) FC, Mysore Muslim FC. The teams in Group ‘B’ are:  Durgamba FC, Mysore Police FC, Chanakya Koota FC, Pope FC, Ashoka FC and Soniya FC.
