Mysuru:  A 36-year-old man was killed on the spot, when he rammed the moped he was riding to a tree near Mogaralli Manti on KRS Road here on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Chandrashekar, a resident of Shyadanahalli village in the taluk.

A bar bender by profession, Chandrashekar was returning home after his work, when he lost control of the moped and rammed into a roadside tree near the Varuna Canal at   about 9.30 pm.

Passersby, who saw the body of Chandrashekar yesterday morning, informed V.V. Puram Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary.

V.V. Puram Traffic Inspector C.V. Ravi, who has registered a case in this regard, is investigating.
