Mysuru: Rotary Mysore Midtown had organised a function at Rotary Centre on JLB Road here recently for the presentation of Silicon Journalism award for excellence in Journalism.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, renowned critic G.H. Nayak opined that India got independence over seven decades ago with the struggle and sacrifice of many people.
He further said that people those days began dreaming that India would see a tremendous growth under an independent democracy.
However, he regretted that looking at the developments now and political fights, apprehensions loom large over the state of the country in future.
Referring to journalism, Nayak opined that a good writer is recognised by the quality of his/her writing and not the quantity of books.
The Rotary Mysore Midtown Silicon Journalism award was conferred on renowned columnist and writer and Deputy Editor (Retd) of ‘Prajavani’ G.P. Basavaraju and wildlife photographer and international awardee R.K. Madhu.
Rotary Mysore Midtown President N. Narendra Babu, Honarary Secretary M.S. Naveen Chandra, Silicon Controls Directors S. Raghavendra and others were present.
