‘A burning lamp is a symbol of knowledge, devotion and renunciation’

Mysuru,:  “A burning lamp is a symbol of knowledge, devotion and renunciation. Hence, performing  ‘arati’ of knowledge to the Lord is a method to seek the blessings of the Almighty,” said Pejawar Seer Sri Visweshatheertha Swamiji.

He was speaking while participating at the ‘Naada Gaana Vaibhavam’ programme as part of the ongoing ‘Bhavasameera Sri Vadiraja Vaibhavam’ Music Festival organised by Haridasa Sangeetha Sahityotsava Samithi at Sarada Vilas Centenary Hall in Krishnamurthypuram here on Tuesday evening.

The Swamiji said that people get closer to God by performing ‘Deepotsava’ during the Karthika Maasa which will help to remove dirty thoughts from the mind and help people view the world with a clear heart and sober mind. He praised the organisers of the event for promoting Haridasa Sahitya in city.

Later Pandit V. Jayatheertha Mevundi rendered ‘Dasara Keerthanes’.

Pejawar Mutt Junior Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Swamiji and Sode Sri Vadiraja Mutt Seer Sri Vishwa Vallabhatheertha Swamiji graced the occasion.
