Drunk juice vendor impaled on iron spikes, dies

Mysuru: A sugarcane juice vendor died of excessive bleeding after getting his thigh pierced to the spikes of iron grill of a park in Nazarbad Police limits last night.

Police sources said that the deceased is Ravikumar (38), a resident of Rajivnagar, a sugarcane juice vendor near Mysuru Zoo.

It is learnt that Ravikumar, who was heavily drunk tried to climb over the iron grills of Yezdi Park compound last night. While attempting to climb over, he is said to have slipped his foot and the iron spikes of the compound grill reportedly pierced his thigh.

Unable to come out, Ravikumar was said to be in that position till passersby saw him at about 6.30 am this morning and informed the jurisdictional Nazarbad Police. Police personnel, who reached the spot, found him dead due to excessive bleeding.

Nazarbad Police, who conducted mahazar, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem besides registering a case.
