A melodious rendition of old film hits

Mysuru: Haleberu Hosachiguru Cultural Trust and G.R. Sneha Balaga together had organised a music programme conducted by Singer Rajesh Krishnan at Sarada Vilas Centenary Hall in Krishnamurthy here on Saturday evening.

The programme commenced with singer Sarvamangala rendering ‘Raghavendra Nee Mounavadare…’ from the Kannada movie ‘Naa Ninna Bidalare.’ The rendition of ‘Beladingalagi Baa…’ from ‘Huliya Haalina Mevu’ by Dr. T. Srinivasamurthy, ‘Nagu Yendide…’ from ‘Pallavi Anupallavi’ by Ashwini Chandra and ‘Pyar Diwana…’ from Hindi movie ‘Kati Patang’ by Srikanta Rao received a thunderous applause from the audience.

Later, Singers Kote Siddaraju, Revanna, Prabhu and Dinesh rendered lilting melodies of old Kannada and Hindi movies.

Teaming with Rajesh Krishnan, Vedashree sung a couple of songs. The programme was inaugurated by District Minister G.T. Devegowda and MLA A.H. Vishwanath.

Speaking on the occasion, Devegowda observed that Mysuru is always a cultural capital with good encouragement for art and culture. He appreciated the organisers in  promoting new singers.

Vishwanath contended that music and art always soothes a stressed mind. Unlike political scenario, he opined that music always binds people together irrespective of their background.

Former Corporator K.V. Mallesh, JD(S) leaders N. Narasimhaswamy, Dr. Srinivasa Murthy and others were present.
