A panoramic view of Bannimantap Grounds

The Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap is set to become a major tourist attraction in city with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) planning to increase the seating capacity to 40,000 spectators from the existing capacity of 22,000. Once the extension works are completed, the Grounds will play host to mega events where a large gathering can be accommodated. The expansion is being done in two phases and 10,000 seats will be added in the first phase. The Millennium Circle (LIC Circle) nearby too will be developed and there are plans to install a statue of Vanivilasa Sannidhana, the mother of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.
