Abducted former Councillor’s wife released in Mysuru

K.R. Pet: A former Municipal Councillor’s wife who was said to have been abducted in broad daylight on Friday evening in the town has been released in Mysuru by her abductors.

The abducted woman, identified as Gayatramma, wife of former Municipal Councillor Raju and a resident of Hosaholalu in the taluk, was working as an Assistant at the Anganawadi Centre in Hemavathi Complex in Jayanagar Extension here. After work, Gayatramma was said to be waiting for an autorickshaw to go home when the miscreants abducted her, following which her husband Raju lodged a Police complaint.

K.R. Police Sub-Inspector H.S. Venkatesh, who had registered a case in this regard, had begun the investigation along with his staff by tracking the victim based on her mobile phone location.

But the abductors, after kidnapping Gayatramma, dropped her near Mysuru Railway Station in the evening and fled from the place.

Later, Gayatramma reached her daughter’s home in Mysuru and on Saturday morning, Gayatramma, along with her daughter, came to K.R. Pet Police Station.

Meanwhile, Gayatramma and her husband Raju, who met Dy.SP Dharmendra urged him to bring the miscreants to book at the earliest, following which, the Dy.SP told them that all necessary action was taken to arrest the miscreants and asked Gayatramma to help the Police prepare sketches of her abductors.

The Dy.SP has assured of arresting the miscreants and take legal action against them.
