ABVP demands appointment of VCs

Mysuru: Urging the Government to appoint Vice-Chancellors (VCs) to Universities and to fill up vacant teaching and non-teaching posts in various Universities, activists of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) staged a demonstration in front of the DC’s office here recently.

Claiming that there were over 6,000 posts, including 1,700 teaching and 4,202 posts, pending  vacant in Universities across the State, the protestors accused the State Government of neglecting higher education.

Urging the Govt. to order a fair probe into numerous irregularities in Universities and to issue free bus pass to poor students, the activists wanted the State Government to address all issues concerning higher education at the earliest.
