ABVP demands criminal action against drug peddlers, holds dharna

Mysore/Mysuru: With the Norcotics Control Bureau (NCB) unearthing the link between Kannada Film Industry and drug supply network, Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a demonstration near the Deputy Commissioner’s Office here this morning seeking total crackdown on drug mafia and criminal action against drug peddlers.

Expressing concern over drug menace among youths, the protestors wanted the Government for stringent action against those found supplying drugs to school and college students.

They also urged for full freedom to the Police Department for cracking down on drug mafia and thus bring the devastating menace to an end in the interest of the nation’s health and prosperity.

ABVP Secretary Mallappa, Prasanna Kumar, Sriram, Rakesh, Sharath, Chiranth, Rachana, Nagashri and others were present.
