March 1, 2017

A gazetted assistant attached to the DDPI office was trapped by ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) officials at his office on D. Subbaiah Road yesterday while accepting bribe from the son of a deceased teacher for putting up a file related to a job application.

Siddalingappa, 59, is the trapped gazetted assistant. Chetan, 26, had submitted an application at the DDPI Office seeking a job on compassionate grounds, following the demise of his father who worked as a teacher at a Government School in Hunsur taluk. Siddalingappa is said to have asked a bribe of Rs. 5,000 for putting up the file related to Chetan’s application. Chetan then lodged a complaint with the ACB.
