ACCE(I) Mysuru to felicitate eminent Civil Engineers

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysore Centre of the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) and The Ramco Cements Limited, will be jointly celebrating Engineers’ Day tomorrow  (Sept. 19) at Sri Kanteerava Narasimharaja Sports Club, Lalitha Mahal Road, at 6.30 pm. 

On the occasion, Civil Engineer Extraordinaire Award will be conferred on H.K. Sampath Kumar (retd. Executive Engineer) and Teacher Par Excellence Award will be presented to Dr. Ramalingaiah (former Principal and Director, PES Institutions, Mandya).

ACCE(I) former President B.S.C. Rao will  be the chief guest. The Ramco Cements            Limited GM-Marketing A. Vinodh and Asst. Vice-President-Technical Services Anil Kumar Pillai will be the guests of honour.   S.B. Basavaraj, Chairman of ACCE(I) Mysore Centre, will preside.

H.K. Sampath Kumar graduated in Science from Sarada Vilas College and Civil Engineering from NIE, Mysuru. He began his service at the Malaprabha Project and later joined the Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Ltd., where he was promoted as the Executive Engineer. He played a vital role in the design and development of numerous irrigation structures, including aqueducts, syphons, spillways, bridges, earthen dams and canal embankments across major projects, to name a few — Kabini, Harangi, Varuna, Hemavathy, Upper Tunga and Varahi.

Dr. Ramalingaiah graduated in Civil Engineering from the Government BDT College of Engineering, Davangere, obtained his M.Tech in Environmental Engineering from IIT-Kanpur and Ph.D from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, Halifax, Canada. He dedicatedly served the PES College of Engineering, Mandya, as a Professor and retired as the Principal in 2001.
