Accident victim succumbs to injuries

Hunsur: A 53-year-old man, who had sustained serious injuries in a road accident on Sunday afternoon, succumbed at a private hospital in city.

The deceased has been identified as Mohan Das, husband of Anitha, Headmistress of Government School, Sadashivanakoppal and a resident of KHB Colony in the town.

On Sunday afternoon, Mohan was proceeding on his bike (KA-45-EB-9047) on the National Highway (NH) when a speeding Maruti Swift car (KA-07-N-9304), which came from Periyapatna side, reportedly hit the bike from behind, leaving him critically injured.

Though he was rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru, he did not respond to the treatment and succumbed to injuries on Monday. Hunsur Town Police, who have registered a case, have seized both the vehicles.
