Accidental fire: Maruti van gutted

May 12, 2018

Mysuru:  A Maruti van parked on Ramanuja Road in city accidentally caught fire and was completely gutted yesterday.

The van (KA 04 B 7669) belonged to a resident from Vidyaranyapuram who had left it for repair in  a garage.

The Fire Brigade officer Nagaraj Urs told Star of Mysore that it caught fire as the  vehicle was being repaired without disconnecting the battery.

This resulted in short circuit which led to the van catching fire accidentally. The Saraswathipuram Fire Brigade personnel on receiving information rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

However, no one was injured in the incident.

The van has turned dark and reduced to the bare minimum with seats completely destroyed.
