Mysore/Mysuru: City’s 3rd Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a man to seven years imprisonment after he was found guilty of stabbing a person and making away with cash and mobile phone in 2017.
The convict is Gavisiddaiah. On Aug. 14, 2017 night, Gavisiddaiah had waylaid one B.R. Rajith at Mathuranagar, stabbed him and had made away with Rs. 1 lakh cash and a mobile phone. A case was registered at Metagalli Police Station.
Gavisiddaiah, who had gone absconding, was arrested by the Police near Bannur when he had attempted robbery. Following an investigation, the Police had submitted a charge-sheet to the Court.
Judge Jerald Rudolph Mendoca, who took up the case, heard the arguments from both sides, found the accused guilty of the crime and sentenced him to seven years imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs. 3,000.
Public Prosecutor Vasanthi M. Angadi argued on behalf of the Government.
