Mysuru: An accused, who was booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and sexual assault charges in 2013, who was to appear before the Court since March 9, 2015, but had gone absconding since then, has been arrested by Mandi Police on Jan. 10, 2023 near a dargah on Prince Road at Shivajinagar in Bengaluru.

The accused is 58-year-old Krishnappa Babulal, a resident of Vandemataram Nagar near Bannimantap in city.

As the accused did not appear before the Court for eight long years, the Court had ordered the case to be a Long Pending Case (LPC).

Mandi Police, who conducted an operation, arrested the accused in Bengaluru on Jan. 10 and produced him before the Court on Jan. 11.

DCP (Law and Order) M. Muthuraj and NR Sub-Division ACP Shivashankar guided Mandi Inspector S. Nagesh and staff Manju, Mahaboob Khan and Siddaraju in the nabbing operation.
