Mysuru: Marking ‘Patrika Dinacharane’ (Kannada Press Day), Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) had organised an awards programme at Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri here this morning. The awardees are as follows
Reporter of the Year Award: H.K. Guruprasad Tumbasoge, Sub-Editor, Vijayavani; Photographer of the Year Award: S.R. Madhusudhan of The Times of India; Best Report Award: K.P. Nagaraj of Public TV; Best Photography Award: E. Karthik of Public TV; Lifetime Achievement Award: M.T. Mahadev, Chief Sub-Editor, Samyukta Karnataka; Achievement of the Year Award: B.Y. Sahitya, Chief Editor, Yashtel TV; Best Rural Journalist Award: M. Narayan, Andolana, T. Narasipur; Photographer of the Year Award: B.R. Savitha of Prajavani-Deccan Herald; Senior Reporter of the Year Award: Somashekar Chikkamarali of Prajaa TV and Senior Photographer of the Year Award: Ramu of Doordarshan.
Inaugurating the programme, District Minister G.T. Devegowda asked media personnel to present true reports and advised them to be extra careful so as to not hurt sentiments of anyone. He opined that working in media is a responsible job and should be done with concentration. UoM Senior Professor Dr. Usha Rani and Karnataka Media Academy Chairman Dr. Padmaraja Dandavati were the chief guests. MDJA President C.K. Mahendra, MLC Dharmasena, Department of Information Assistant Director R. Raju, ZP President Parimala Shyam, Vice-President Gowramma Somashekhar, Karnataka Media Academy Secretary C. Roopa and others were present.
