Actor Mandya Ramesh conferred ‘Kannada Rangasiri’ Award at USA

Mysore/Mysuru: Noted Kannada actor and theatre personality Mandya Ramesh was presented ‘Kannada Rangasiri’ award at a theatre performance organised by USA-based ‘Ranga Vartula’, a theatre group established by American Kannadigas, at Synetic Theatre in Washington DC, USA recently.

He was conferred with the award in recognition of his services to Kannada theatre. Ramesh is the Founder-Secretary of Natana Rangashaale in Mysuru.

Dr. Chandrashekar Kambar’s popular play ‘Karimaayi’ was enacted by Ranga Vartula, which was the group’s first performance, much to the delight of the audience.

Speaking on the occasion, America-based Kannada writer Dr. Mysore Nataraj said that more than 30 amateur artistes of Ranga Vartula theatre group performed excellently in the play. Earlier singer Sunitha Ananthaswamy rendered theatre songs. Ranga Vartula Founder-Director Nitish Sridhar and others were present.
