Actor Upendra to float new party

Bengaluru: Actor Upendra, who heads KPJP (Karnataka Prajnavanthara Janata Paksha), a party that was founded by one Mahesh Gowda during the 2015 BBMP elections, quit the party today, amidst internal bickering in the fledgling party.

Declaring that he has quit the party, after meeting the party leaders at a resort on the outskirts of the State Capital this morning, Upendra, while categorically ruling out joining any other party, said that he will be floating his own party to be named as ‘Prajakeeya Party.’ He said that he would complete the formalities of floating the party after consulting his lawyers and added that his new party would take up the cause of people.
