Acute water scarcity in Vijayanagar 4th Stage

April 17, 2024

Sir,

Access to water is a fundamental necessity for residents, and it is concerning to hear about water scarcity issue in Vijayanagar 4th Stage. This problem persists not only during summer months but throughout the year due to the absence of a dedicated water supply authority for this area.

Despite attempts to seek assistance from various authorities, including Hootagalli CMC and Bogadi Town Panchayat, it seems Vijayanagar 4th Stage near Sankalp Temple Trees falls under MUDA jurisdiction.

However, efforts to contact the numbers listed on the MUDA website have been futile, with the IVR system indicating that the numbers do not exist. Additionally, attempts to reach the water operator, Krishna, have been unsuccessful as his phone is consistently switched off.

The current water supply arrangement, with water being provided only once a week and the sump not being adequately filled, is insufficient to meet the needs of residents. This situation is causing significant inconvenience and hardship for tenants and property owners alike.

I urge the government to take immediate action to address this critical issue by ensuring that water is supplied daily. Furthermore, it is essential to allocate this area under a suitable authority to facilitate effective management of water-related challenges. Residents deserve sufficient water to meet their daily needs and steps must be taken to address this without delay.
