Mysore/Mysuru: With less than a fortnight left for Shivaji Jayanti (Feb.19), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) B.R. Poornima held a preparatory meeting at the office of the Deputy Commissioner here on Tuesday.

Addressing the meeting, Poornima said that Shivaji Jayanti will be celebrated on Feb.19 in association with Chhatrapathi Shivaji Jayantyotsava Samithi. Pointing out that a procession will be taken out from Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple at the Palace North gate to Kalamandira at 10 am on that day, she called for taking out the procession on time. Noting that the delay will unnecessarily inconvenience the guests, she asked the Samithi to keep up time and ensure that the stage programme at Kalmandira is held as per schedule.

Following an appeal by Samithi members, the ADC asked MCC officials to ensure drinking water and e-toilet facilities at the procession launch venue.

Kannada and Culture Assistant Director H. Channappa,members of various Kannada organisations and Samithi members were present.
