Mysuru: Condemning the ghastly attack on tourists at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir by terrorists in which 26 tourists were gunned down on Tuesday, Advocates boycott Court proceedings and staged a protest in city on Thursday.
An emergency meeting was held at Mysore Bar Association Office in City Courts Complex premises following which Advocates staged a protest near the bust of Mahatma Gandhi, opposite the City Law Courts Complex.
Condemning the killing of innocent tourists, Bar Association President S. Lokesh said that the terrorists gunned down the tourists only after confirming that they were Hindus. “The terrorists did not see if the tourists were Vokkaligas or Lingayats, they just confirmed if the tourists were Hindus. The Governments should understand this and stop dividing people based on caste. It is time for Hindus to unite,” Lokesh added.
Association General Secretary A.J. Sudheer, Vice-President M.V. Chandrashekar, Joint Secretary Charanraj, Women Joint Secretary Vonoda, Treasurer Bharat, Senior Advocate M. Shivanna and others took part in the protest.
