Affix reflectors at Traffic Island medians

May 14, 2019

Sir,

Many readers have brought to the notice through these columns about the hazards being posed by the medians having no reflectors at prime traffic junctions. Here is one such classic example which occurred on                                 May 1 at 7.45 pm near Vijayanagar Water Tank, when it was raining (see pic).

Many Traffic Islands in the city having medians are either not painted and affixed with reflectors which are causing hindrance to motorists. Luckily in the present case, though no one was hurt, the car had a considerable damage as it overran the median. Similar is the case near Hinkal flyover junction

It is high time, the Traffic Police concerned, rather than concentrating more on penalising helmetless riders, also take care on these aspects in future and avoid losses, both life and vehicles.
