AGM of All-India Anglo-Indian Assn. held

Mysuru: Vinisha Nero, Anglo-Indian MLA of Karnataka, inaugurated the development works to be undertaken through the MLA Fund at St. Philomena’s Church (St. Joseph’s Cathedral), Mysuru, recently. The work undertaken is cobble-stoning of parking area at the Church premises.

The development works were launched after a prayer and blessing by Rt. Rev. Dr. K. A. William, Bishop of Mysuru. Rev. Fr. Vincent Monteiro, Rev. Fr. Stany Almeida, Charles Lewis, President, All-India Anglo-Indian Association (AIAIA) and others were present.

Later, Vinisha Nero also inaugurated solar lighting at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Church, Rajivnagar.  Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Mervin was present on the occasion.

AGM of AIAIA

Meanwhile, the All-India Anglo-Indian Association, Mysuru Branch, held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday last at the Railway Institute, Yadavagiri. Vinisha Nero, who is also the Governing Body Member of AIAIA, New Delhi, was the chief guest.  

President of AIAIA Mysuru Charles Lewis welcomed.  

Vinisha Nero spoke about the various Government schemes available for minorities and asked all Anglo-Indians to apply for the same.

Meritorious students, Jochelle Carmel Ellis (X Std.), Ricardo Cuffley (PUC), Stephanie Lewis and Amanda Ponceno (PG) were felicitated on the occasion.

New office-bearers: A new team of AIAIA was elected for the year 2019-2020.  Michelle A. Suresh – President; Alistair Rodrigues and Joy Dove – Vice-Presidents; Lester Nunes – Hon. Secretary; Felicia Rodrigues – Joint Secretary; Charles Lewis – Hon Treasurer; Crezvel Coates, Anthony Smith and Llewellyn Rodrigues – Committee Members.
