AIISH bags first prize at Government Schemes and Achievements Expo-2023 in Delhi

Mysore/Mysuru: The Government Schemes and Achievements Expo-2023 held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, witnessed a remarkable display of accomplishments by various Government initiatives, with the spotlight on All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysuru. Renowned for its contributions in the field of communication disorders, AIISH left an indelible mark on the three-day exhibition that began on July 21.

S.P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, was the chief guest.

AIISH’s stall attracted a significant number of visitors, with eminent personalities like Ganesh Joshi, Minister of Soldier Welfare, Agriculture & Rural Development, Government of Uttarakhand and Bhagirath Choudhary, Lok Sabha MP (Ajmer, Rajasthan) among others.

AIISH’s stall offered visitors a glimpse of its exemplary services under the theme of “Garib Kalyan, Seva and Sushashan,” showcasing its dedicated mission to enhance the lives of individuals with communication disorders. The Institute’s unwavering commitment to harmonising its efforts with the Government’s vision of inclusive healthcare was profoundly evident, winning the hearts of diverse audience that comprised school children, exhibitors from other organisations and the public. The Expo served as an invaluable platform for AIISH to showcase its initiatives like new-born screening at birth and inspiring success stories.

AIISH went the extra mile in ensuring a holistic experience for all visitors, including exhibitors, by offering complimentary hearing screening and speech-language consultations.

Individuals identified as at-risk during the screening tests were given timely support and specialised care with prior appointments for further detailed testing at AIISH’s Outreach service centres located at Safdurjang Hospital, Dr. RML Hospital, and Lok Nayak Hospital, New Delhi. Informative pamphlets were distributed to raise awareness about communication disorders and courses offered. Such pioneering efforts have solidified AIISH’s reputation as a beacon of excellence in addressing communication disorders.

The event’s success was a testament to the collective endeavours of numerous organisations, with the Government playing a pivotal role in fostering a prosperous and inclusive India, empowering every citizen to realise their fullest potential.
