Mysore/Mysuru: Marking the 36th Chaturmasya Vrata of Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji, a  day-long health check-up camp was organised at Krishnadhama in Saraswathipuram here on Sunday.

Speaking after inaugurating the camp, Swamiji said that changing lifestyles and a stressful life are taking a toll on the health of the people. Noting that an increasing number of the population is prone to health risks due to various factors in this era of a modern world, the Seer said that people should not ignore their health and should undergo periodical health check-ups for their own well-being. He called upon the people to make best use of such health camps.

Srirangapatna Chandravana Ashrama Seer Sri Trinetra Mahanta Swamiji said that modern allopathy has been in existence since 100 years. But Yoga, Ayurveda and other forms of Herbal treatment have over a thousand year history. Calling upon the people for promotion of Ayurveda and other forms of Indian Medicine, he said that a similar health check-up camp will be organised at Bebi village in Pandavapura taluk on Aug. 6.

Gururaj, Dr. Roopa, Dr. Prakash Prabhu, Mysuru District Brahmins Association office-bearers Vikram Iyengar, Ravi Shastri and others were present.

The health check-up camp was organised in association with Government Ayurveda College, Annapurna Eye Hospital, JSS Dental College, Narayana Multi-speciality Hospital and Cauvery Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Mysuru.
