Mysuru lad S.D. Prajwal Dev, teaming up with Kunal Vazirani won the Men’s Doubles title in the 2.5 lakh AITA Men’s Tennis Tournament conducted by K.G. Ramesh Tennis Academy at Coimbatore yesterday.

In the final, Prajwal and Kunal combined well to beat Mohammed Fahad (TN) and Yash Yadhav (MP) 4-6, 6-1, 10-4.

Earlier in the semis, the duo beat Bharat Nishok Kumaran (TN) and M. Kavin (TN) 6-2, 6-3. In the quarter-finals, Prajwal and Kunal beat Udhay Bhakkar (Raj) and Jagmeet Singh (Har) 6-1, 6-2. In the first round, Prajwal and Kunal got the better of Guarang  (Har) & Chinmay Bhakshi (Har) 6-3, 6-3.

In the Men’s Singles event, Prajwal Dev has entered the final and he will meet Ishaque Eqbal (WB) in the title clash to be held on Saturday.

In the semi-finals, Prajwal beat Bharat Nishok Kumaran (TN) 6-3, 7-5 and in the quarter-finals got the better of Kunal Vazirani (Mah) 6-1, 6-0. In the pre-quarterfinals, Prajwal beat Anurang Nenwani (Del) 7-5, 6-2 and in the first round beat Raghav Jaisinghania (MP) 6-0, 6-0.
