AITUC seeks minimum wages

July 25, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Seeking minimum wages and payment of  allowance, workers under the banner of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) staged a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Saturday.

Accusing the Government of pursuing anti-labour policies, the protestors condemned the State Government’s July 20 notification deferring the payment of Difference Allowance due to workers, till March 2021.

Maintaining that lakhs of workers have lost jobs due to covid-19 lockdown, they urged the Government to ensure minimum wages for the working class and job creation. They also demanded that the Government withdraw its notification on the deferment of allowances due to the workers and also to stop enacting  Laws that were detrimental to the working class.

AITUC office-bearers H.R. Sheshadri, H.B. Ramakrishna, K.G. Somaraje Urs, Jagannath, K.S. Revanna, M. Shivanna, Ramu, N.K. Devadas, D.Suresh and others took part in the demonstration.
