AIUTUC to stage protest in Delhi on Sept. 4

August 31, 2025

Mysuru: The All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC) will stage a protest at New Delhi on Sept. 4 against the  anti-labour and pro-capitalist policies of the Union Government.

This was disclosed by the State AIUTUC Vice-President K.V. Bhat at a press conference held at Patrakarthara Bhavana in the city on Friday.

“About 1,000 workers and their representatives will participate in a protest to be held at Jantar Mantar on Sept. 4. The protest is being organised against the anti-labour and pro-capitalist policies of the Central Government. A total of 224  activists from the city and the State are taking part in this protest,” he said.

“The Central Government must immediately scrap the four labour codes which deprive the workers of their rights. Electricity Amendment Bill 2023 and installation of Smart Meters must be withdrawn. Workers should not be forced to work beyond 8 hours a day and 48 hours a week. The Government must not reduce the number of permanent employees. National Pension Scheme (NPS) and Unified Pension Scheme must be shelved and Old Pension Scheme must be implemented unconditionally and provide PF and ESI facility to all workers,” said Bhat.

The protest has been organised to urge the Central Government to immediately implement all these and other demands like  treating employees working under various schemes as Government workers and provide them all legitimate facilities, job security and permanent employment and constitute a Labour Welfare Board for the benefit of workers, urged Bhat.
