Mysuru: The 65th All India Co-operative Week was launched at Sahakara Bhavana on Chamaraja Double Road here on Nov.14.
Presiding over the inaugural function, District Co-operative Union President H.V. Rajeev opined that a good consumer awareness has prompted a healthy competition among traders thus providing good quality food products. He expected a similar improvement in trading of fish with quality consciousness.
He suggested Co-operatives to come out with concrete plans to improve the quality of food products and also help agricultural produce to generate more revenue for the farmers.
Addressing the gathering, Karnataka State Co-operative LAMPS Federation President Muddaiah opined that if development of tribes is totally achieved, the health of society would improve. He said that the Federation has helped the forest tribes to eke out a decent living by selling forest produce.
