All religious shrines and tourist spots closed for public during weekends

Mysore/Mysuru: Following a Karnataka Government order imposing weekend curfew in the State to combat the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens (Mysuru Zoo) and Karanji Lake Nature Park in the city  have been closed for  tourists and other visitors on May 1 and 2. These tourist spots were also shut for tourists on Apr. 24 and 25.

Likewise, entry of tourists to Mysore Palace, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district too has been banned on May 1 and 2. These were also shut on Apr. 24 and 25.

Similarly, Safaris at Bandipur, Nagarahole Tiger Reserve and  K. Gudi  conducted by the Forest Department have been suspended on May 1 and 2 and tourist entry has been banned. The tourists were barred entry yesterday and today too.

Meanwhile, entry of devotees to Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill, Srikanteshwara Temple at Nanjangud, M.M. Hills Temple in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district, B.R. Hills Temple and Gopalaswamy Hill Temple has been banned on all days till the morning of May 4.
